I was asked to create my version of St. Florian. This is what I came up with…and of course I had to have him saving San Antonio!

Black Sunday has been used to describe January 23, 2005, when four firefighters of the New York City Fire Department died in two fires. It was the deadliest day for the FDNY since the World Trade Center attack on September 11, 2001. I was commissioned by one of the survivors to do a memorial drawing that he had always envisioned.

Helmet painted in honor of Joey D. one of the ff’s lost as a result of the Black Sunday Fire in NY. The helmet was created to raise money for the Joey D Foundation…although I believe the family decided to keep it.
